As you know, I have grown mistrustful of a number of web sites due to delusory postsings about the Daiichi nuclear facility in Fukushima prefecture, Japan. Tonight I took a quick look at Before It's News and found a truely fantastical piece of blather entitled, are you ready? - "Fukushima Will Lead to a Declaration of Martial Law – Putting the Puzzle Pieces together. How to Prepare Yourself Against Radiation." Flabbergasted by the title alone, my curiosity got the best of me and I read on.
Lisa Haven, who contributed (if you can call it that) this article, starts off with, hold on to your hats,
“Nuclear Fallout is the residual radioactive material propelled into the upper atmosphere following a nuclear blast or a nuclear reaction conducted in an unshielded facility, so called because it “falls out” of the sky after the explosion and shock wave have passed. It commonly refers to the radioactive dust and ash created when a nuclear weapon explodes, but this dust can also be originated in a damaged nuclear plant. This radioactive dust, consisting of material either directly vaporized by a nuclear blast or charged by exposure, is a highly dangerous kind of radioactive contamination….It can lead to the contamination of aquifers or soil and devastate the affected ecosystems years after the initial exposure…. A wide range of biological changes may follow the irradiation of animals. These vary from rapid death following high doses of penetrating whole-body radiation, to essentially normal lives for a variable period of timeUNTILthe development of delayed radiation effects, in a portion of the exposed population, following low dose exposures.“ Wikipedia (Nuclear Fallout).
She then shares what must be years of accumulated knowledge regarding nuclear fallout and radiation by writing this -- "There you have it! The effects of nuclear fallout from Fukushima will have diverse effects on the population following a series of low dose exposures."
When chicken little stops yelling "the sky is falling," she needs to do some research and learn exactly what it would take to propel radioactive material into the upper atmosphere. Actually, this information can be found at Educate-Yourself.org. If only she had taken the time to do a little research, Lisa could have avoided the embarrassment of this posting.
The remainder of the article involves Lisa informing us about a public "outcry" once the "truth" about Fukushima is revealed, an outcry so massive it will lead to marshal law blah, blah, blah...
Is Lisa a complete imbecile, or is she just looking to get paid? Probably both.
