Subject: I can't remember where I read of this...but it works! Just an FYI
Dear Mr. Adachi:
First of all, I wish to say, thanks for such an informative website. You have been in my favorites list for quite a few years, like an old friend. God bless you for all the good work you do for humanity.
Thanks to the wonders of modern medicine, I recently suffered a really bizarre, uncomfortable side-effect from one of the many popular prescription drugs for acid-reflux. Thankfully, good old apple cider vinegar and water, along with some very potent capsules filled with billions of good bacterial flora, cured me of my ailment. Without disclosing my identity, I hope you will share this with others…I wouldn’t wish that experience on my worst enemy.
I was prescribed the usual popular meds for acid reflux by my doctor, who is an osteopath, not an MD. She felt really badly about all of this happening to me, because she truly tries to heal, not harm her patients. It wasn’t her fault; the drug companies don’t tell the docs the harm that long-term use of these drugs can do. Anyway, I had been taking the medication, for about 6 months, and noticed that I had a change in bowel habits. OK, I let that go…then got a vaginal yeast infection. My OB/GYN diagnosed it, gave me Keflex, sent me on my way. No good; the infection came back…more Keflex, about 5 more times over the course of last summer.
She finally referred me to my regular doc, suspecting diabetes. No. My sugar levels are fine. I went down to my local alternative/natural remedy store, and the owner gave me capsules with huge doses of acidophilus, and other cultures, which were wiped out of my body with the reflux drug, and the repeated doses of Keflex. I took that for a month, but still the infection wanted to come back. Then, I found an article about drinking about 1 and a half tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a full glass of water about 3 times a day. I did this for about a week.
I noticed it worked in less than half an hour after drinking the mixture. The vinegar immediately killed whatever was flourishing in my body. The only precaution I recommend, is that this mixture be consumed through a straw, as the acidity of the vinegar will damage tooth enamel. Keep it off your teeth.
At my last check up, I shared this story with my family doctor, which was when she apologized on behalf of the medical profession, for harming me. I am currently starting the process of weaning myself off the reflux drug, as the acid situation worsens if one tries to stop taking them, “cold turkey.” Now I know, that at the first signs of any problems, I will reach for the apple cider vinegar, not antibiotics. It is a lot cheaper too!
Peace be with you always.

Hello Ellen,
I never tire of reading letters from people who serendipitously stumble upon a Nature based treatment that exceeds beyond their wildest dreams whatever "cure" they had hoped they could obtain from prescribed pharmaceuticals. Drugs do no cure disease conditions; they never have and they never will. At best, drugs temporarily smother symptoms until the body has a chance to heal itself. Drugs always come with a price tag and the long term use of drugs come with an even larger price tag.
We've all been conditioned since childhood to turn to "the doctor" in the doctor's office, or the clinic or the hospital Emergency Room to receive treatment for what ails us, but the most common doctor available to us is an allopathic doctor. That refers to a licensed medical practitioner who prescribes pharmaceutical drugs for treatment. All of the principal medical schools in America have been under the domination and largess of major drug companies since the early 20th century with the presentation of the Flexner Report before congress in 1907, so naturally their teaching curriculums will reflect the use of pharmaceuticals to address any and all disease conditions. However, human beings are a 'product' of Nature and not of a pharmaceutical lab, so we will respond to medicines found within Nature with far more success than those discovered in a drug lab.
Acid-reflux is caused by stomach acid being pushed up into the esophagus where it doesn't belong. The reason that it's getting into the esophagus is because the upper stomach sphincter valve isn't closing completely and tightly. The sphincter valve isn't working right because there are ORGANISMS (parasites and bacteria) living within the stomach lining and the stomach valve which are preventing the valve from closing correctly. Kill the organisms which are adversely affecting the valve, and the problem goes away. The Cider vinegar is a mild acetic acid that is apparently interfering with the life cycle of those organisms, even though they can survive in the higher acidic content of hydrochloric acid produced by the stomach. Hulda Clark mentions the use of Cider vinegar quite a bit in her books. I know it can also jack up the activity of mitochondria, which in turn can give you more energy.
The acidophilus capsules helped to re-seed the colon with friendly bacteria which helped to improve regulation and bowel movement. You should wean yourself from those drugs as soon as possible. It doesn't take that long to taper off. Reduce your dosage by about 1/4 every 2 or 3 days and you'll be out of it within a week to 10 days.
The books of Dr. Hulda Clark, especially The Cure for All Disease, will tell you how to solve most health problems yourself at home, without turning to allopathic doctors or pharmaceuticals. You don't really need them. Learn to cure the body yourself with Nature-based knowledge.
Long term use of prescribed drugs throws off the body's normal blood and hormonal chemistry. Drugs ALWAYS produce dis-equilibrium in the body and the body attempts to compensate in some way. Of course, the body is continuously trying to detoxify and break down the drug in the liver, but often it cannot remove the by-products of that drug metabolism because the drug -a laboratory creation- will not reduce down to a small enough molecule or element that the body recognize as a natural substance and therefore cannot excrete it in the normal fashion. Therefore, the drug residues remain in the body, usually being sequestered in fat tissue. Over time, those residues build up and they cause greater problems down the road.
Nature-based medicines, especially those from the plant kingdom, do not cause any of these problems. It's completely broken down and properly excreted from the body. Natural remedies do not create dis-equilibrium of body chemistry and therefore no see-saw compensation is required. You get a genuine CURE with a Nature based medicine because the "dis-ease" which caused the symptom in the first place is addressed fully and PROPERLY by Nature, which knows how to RESOLVE and re-balance the conflicting energy systems that led to the symptoms and re-establish the body to normal homeostasis.
Sometimes, for certain acute conditions. a particular drug will handle the problem rapidly and may be the wiser choice in a moment of emergency, however, in most cases, turning to Nature for a remedy will serve you far better and preserve your health far longer-and at far less cost.
