Introduction and Philosophical Overview
Welcome to the premiere issue E-Y's Natural Health. The purpose of this newsletter (and this organization) is help people become self sufficient and self dependent in all matters of health care. America's over-reliance and dependence on orthodox allopathic medicine (prescribers of drugs), pharmaceuticals, and the Standard American Diet have brought us to a deplorable state of national health. We believe that no one is more interested in maintaining your health, than you. In our opinion, you need to accept the primary responsibility and not delegate it to others. Millions and millions of Americans have suffered (and died) needlessly because of the foolish abandonment of personal health care responsibility into the hands of others. For most of this century, Organized Allopathic Medicine has engaged in a deception. The public has been led to believe that: A) allopathic medicine alone is legitimate, proven, and worthy of public trust (with all other forms of therapy are to be distrusted and branded as quackery, etc.) and B) that allopathic physicians are healers. Neither is true. Allopathic physicians, while pretending to be healers, actually are involved in the business of ‘patient management'. The familiar routine goes like this: The patient visits the doctor and tells him what's wrong. The doctor writes a prescription to ameliorate the symptoms. The cause and prevention of the disease condition are never broached. For the overwhelming majority of chronic sufferers, the patient regularly returns again and again for ‘visits and checkups'. This system keeps the dutiful and obedient patient coming back for regular doctor appointments, while at the same time keeping your friendly pharmacist busy refilling those prescriptions. I'm afraid that's what the game is really all about. In fact, it was planned that way. Of course, all of this activity is fine with the insurance industry, since medical insurance coverage now becomes an absolute necessity in everyone's life.
What role has the Standard American Diet played in determining our national health profile? .....Plenty. Today, millions of people suffer from chronic diseases that didn't even exist in previous centuries. Diabetes and heart disease, for example, are 20th Century conditions. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome wasn't even described in the literature until the mid 1980's. Yet, one study estimated that today, 70% of the adult American population suffers from Chronic Fatigue! Many modern afflictions largely arose as a result of a fundamental change in our national diet. The chronic use of drugs and vaccines has also played a significant role.
In these pages, we'll explore both the questions and answers to modern ailments and how you can learn to take care of yourself.
Everyone can learn to take control of their own health destiny and put an end to the worry and other desperate emotions engendered by reliance on our ‘health care' system.

What can I do ? Take charge and stop relying on your allopathic doctor, hospital, clinic, or pharmacist to take care of you for routine, chronic, or even so-called ‘terminal disease' health care.
But we need doctors and hospitals! No, you don't need them! Organized Medicine has been brain washing you since childhood with the notion that you need them. The fact is, they need you ...mainly to keep the money rolling in!
How can I take care of myself? Through education and the realization that The Creator, working through Nature, has already supplied you with all the ‘equipment' necessary to take care of yourself.
So, what do I have to do? The only thing you have to do, is to learn how to work with Mother Nature and observe her laws. She'll take care of everything else for you! We'll get you started on the education part.
Our plan is to try and get this newsletter out on the first of every month. We don't have the time to put together a 30 page booklet, but we'll try to fill a few pages with enough intriguing information to keep you interested. We thought about having 4 or 5 regular columns and perhaps a special feature, from time to time. We aren't looking for a Putlizer Prize nomination here, so don't expect a Big Deal Production. We want to get out useful health information in bite-sized pieces, that you will remember!
We can guarantee you, however, that you won't be seeing a newsletter filled with the puffed-up, overblown, authority-heavy, re-cycled propaganda, pseudo-science, and pro-pharmaceutical crap that passes for health news published by many of the bastions of establishment medicine such John Hopkins or The Mayo Clinic!!
This first issue will include 4 out of 5 planned columns. They include: Natural Nutrition, Natural Therapies, How the Body Works, Emerging Diseases, and the Mind-Body Connection. The single biggest problem with the American (or western) Diet is the consuming of processed foods. This refers to anything purchased off the shelf of a supermarket that comes in a box, bag, or can. Plant food, that is grown with natural (unaltered, non-bioengineered) seed, in organic soil, using natural lighting (the sun), and irrigated with clean water and natural fertilizers will produce the most potent and vitalizing source of nourishment for human consumption on the day it is harvested in a ripened state. After harvesting, every day that passes in storage causes a gradual lessening of vital energies that the plant is capable of supplying. Far more devastating to the life energies contained in the plant, is the processing of that plant. Every step taken by commercial food companies to prepare plants (grinding, beating, heating, whipping, pulverizing, cooking, adulterations, additives, etc., etc.) for commercial use (and, of course, a LONG shelf life) devitalizes and robs that plant of its most beneficial and life-nourishing properties and energy fields. Conventional bio-science and dieticians have completely missed the boat on this one. Traditionally, nutritional studies, articles, and even textbooks would only consider the gross elements found in a given plant, such as calcium, iron, or magnesium, and perhaps the percentage of carbohydrates or fats found in a given plant, but that's it! No discussion of the all-important food enzymes lost whenever the plant is exposed to temperatures above 118 degrees, nor a word about the many subtle, but fragile, phytochemicals contained in the raw plant, that are destroyed or altered into a less bioactive form through processing. In addition, the loss or devitalization of accompanying bio-magnetic and bio-electric energy fields associated with the fresh, raw plant isn't even on the radar screen of establishment nutritional science! Lesson: Avoid processed foods.
Pure, clean Water has healing and restorative capabilities far beyond that which is known or recognized by mainstream bio-science. The regular daily consumption of at least 8-12 big glasses (12-16ozs) of pure water will, over time, reverse many Alzheimer's patients back to normal cognitive functionality; totally eliminate most cases of arthritis/rheumatism pain and swelling; end chronic back pain; stop anginal pain; reduce high blood pressure to normal levels; prevent asthma or allergy attacks; relieve the pain (and the condition of ) ulcers and other stomach disorders; lower cholesterol; stop a heart attack in its tracks; generally reduce or eliminate most forms of pain and increase energy. This is only a partial listing of the amazing curative abilities of water if consumed in large enough quantities and on a regular basis. Note, we are talking about drinking water, and water only: Not juice, not coffee, not tea, etc. Drinks that include a mixture of water with something else (E.g. tea) are handled differently by the body than pure water. I wouldn't trust drinking municipal tap water anywhere in this country, but a private source of clean water (well, underground stream, etc.) that you've had tested and certified to be free of contaminants is OK. Otherwise, buy certified contaminant-free bottled water or obtain a reverse-osmosis filtering setup. My own habit is to leisurely drink four 16oz glasses of water in the morning before having anything to eat. In doing so, I can usually postpone any feelings of hunger for 4 or 5 hours. This gives my body a chance to cleanse itself before taking on the task of digestion and absorption. Same thing at night: 4 or 5 big glasses of water leisurely consumed in the final 4 or 5 hours before going to sleep will prevent hunger and allow you to sleep much deeper. I'll drink another 2-4 glasses during the afternoon between meals. Don't try and drink a lot of water either 30 minutes before you eat or during the meal itself. This would only dilute your gastric juices and thwart your body's attempts to digest the food. Now for the obvious question: Yes, you'll have to go to the bathroom a lot when you first start this regimen, but gradually your body will adjust to this new level of water intake and your bathroom visits will eventually normalize (takes a few months).

How The Body Works
Digestion and Absorption are two different processes, handled by different parts of the body, but sometimes people aren't clear about the difference. So here's a quick review: Digestion starts in the mouth with the excretion of digestive enzymes from the salivary glands. The enzyme Amylase, in particular, is produced in large amounts. Amylase helps to break down complex carbohydrates or starches into simpler sugars before the food enters the stomach. You can demonstrate this to yourself by chewing on a piece of bread for a couple of minutes; notice how it will begin to taste sweeter, the more you chew on it. Once foods enters the stomach, gastric juices (enzymes, hydrochloric acid, etc. ) work on the food in an attempt to break it down into smaller food particles. Inadequate stomach acid or stomach acid that is too diluted will inhibit this process. Cold drinks especially, when taken with food, will force food out of the stomach before much digestion has taken place. A very small amount of warm or hot liquid is preferable if you want something to drink while eating. .
Proteins and carbohydrates are mostly handled by stomach juices, while fats are broken up once they enter the Duodenum, the first section of the small intestines. The stomach acid that was secreted by the stomach and is now mixed in with the digested food is also neutralized (or buffered) by pancreatic secretions into the Duodenum. After buffering and moving out of the Duodenum into the next two sections that make up the small intestines (the Jejunum and the Ileum), any food that is not sufficiently digested (reduced to very small particles) will not be absorbed by a healthy and fit small intestine. Absorption takes place when very small nutrient particles move through the intestinal wall of the small intestines into the bloodstream. Larger-than-normal food particles can be absorbed through an unfit intestinal wall, when one suffers from a common condition called leaky gut syndrome. This can set up a host of allergic reactions once these larger particles enter the bloodstream. They are often mistakenly seen by the immune system as foreign protein. Another common, but underrated small intestinal condition is called Celiac Disease.
With Celica Disease, absorption is greatly reduced due to the loss of the finger-like villi projections normally present in a fit and healthy small intestine. Scaring of the supportive tissue will further reduce absorption by as much as 70%. Classical Celiac Disease is caused by a sensitivity to wheat gluten, but the same condition can arise from cow's milk albumen and soy protein. Nutrient absorption ends when the intestinal chyme (unabsorbed food, fiber, etc) exists the small intestines and enters the large intestine or colon. Water absorption, as well as bile and cholesterol re-absorption mostly takes place in the colon. Intestinal gas is the waste product of bacteria that is normally found in the colon which is digesting the unabsorbed and undigested food particles in the chyme. More unabsorbed food results in more gas Chewing food into a liquid-like consistency before swallowing will allow much greater digestion, which in turn will lead to more nutrient absorption. More nutrient absorption will lead to greater vigor, health, and energy.
This is something that everyone needs to pay attention to. New diseases and newer virulent forms of old diseases are beginning to emerge at an exponential rate. In the next newsletter, we'll identify the major players, but for the time being, recognize that a sufficiently strengthened immune system can resist any biological attack, despite what government and media scaremongers are saying to the contrary. Members of the US military need to be concerned about the government plans to vaccinate everyone in the military with Anthrax vaccine. This is extremely dangerous and potentially hazardous to the future well being of our troops. These vaccines are not safe. Over 20,000 Gulf War troops have already died of Gulf War Syndrome, a disease which the government continues to deny and stonewall. Dr Len Horowitz, in his book, Emerging Viruses: AIDS & Ebola; Nature, Accident, or intentional? documents how the government secretly developed these ‘mystery pathogens'. They were secretly tested using prison inmates in a southern state two years before the Gulf War. These prisoners (and some guards) developed the same diseases as the Gulf War troops. Some, but not all, Gulf War troops were inoculated with these pathogens when they were vaccinated for Persian Gulf duty.
