More Than 56,000 Have Signed Petition Started on Aug. 7 Urging the Arrest of Netanyahu When He Visits London In Sept. re. the Killing of Over 2,200 Gazans in 2014 ~ 100K Signatures Needed for Parliamentary Debate
[Editor's Note: On March 3, 2015, 535 members of congress made it crystal clear to the American people just who's the boss of the American government when they gave a cheering, 4 minute-long standing ovation to Benjamin Netanyahu, who was introduced to congress by a fawning John Boehner as "His Excellency, Benjamin Netanyahu." These well-bribed, obsequious servants of Zion welcome the 'WMD' Prophet of Doom like he's the greatest conquering hero in American history, another MacArthur returning triumphant from the war, when just 7 months earlier, he had killed over 2,200 Palestinians in Gaza with aerial bombings and outlawed, burn-to-the-bone white phosphorous "showers," injured 11,000 more, destroyed 17,000 homes, and displaced 500,000 desperate people. I've never witnessed such a despicable and loathsome display of sycophancy in my entire life. The content of his speech, of course, matched the lies of his previous assurances, some years earlier, that Iraq had WMDs (and had to be taken out by the US military, at US taxpayer expense).
The UK parliament petition linked below was at 45,000 when I received the email yesterday with this story, but had risen to over 56,000 as I type these words on August 14. I wouldn't be surprised if it reached 100k within a few days of this writing, and by September, it may well exceed 500K or even 1 million names. Whether the UK parliament will debate the issue is uncertain, but the public outcry does send a message, however, that the thinking people of this planet are not so eager to bow down before "His Excellency" of the Likud party and applaud his war mongering propaganda.
Update, September 21, 2015: The 100k signature threshold to require the UK government to consider debating the Netanyahu war criminal issue was met on September 4, 2015, but was ignored by the UK government, failing to provide a response to the petitioner, to which he was entitled by the government's own rules. The government's failure to respond makes it clear that the 100k signature petition requirement to allow a Parliamentary debate is a sham, only applicable to softball issues that will not create embarrassment or highlight human rights irresponsibility on the part of the UK government in ignoring Netanyhu's role in the genoicde of Palestinian civilians in Gaza in the Summer of 2014. Six days later, Netanyahu visited the UK on September 10 -11, and was met by 300 protesters outside of 10 Downing Street (a smaller group of 50 Netanyahu supporters waving Isreali flags was photographed by the Guardian so as to appear to be equivalent to Netanyahu protestors). The Netanyahu visit was strongly denounced by British union leaders, Labour MPS, and liberal politicians. You can read from the UK Guardian article posted below, that every word out of Netanyahu's mouth is a reversal of the truth. He will identify Israel as the victim of Palestinian aggression and denounce those who protests against his vicious genocide of defenseless Gaza civilians as a failure to recognize that Israel is Europe's "greatest ally" in the Middle East whose presence serves to stem the supposed horde of crazed "radical Islamists" who would otherwise sweep over Europe bringing chaos and ruin if it were not for the presence of Zionist Israel to provide the bulwark against this 'threat' (when the truth, of course, is quite the opposite). ]

A petition calling for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be arrested for ‘war crimes’ when he arrives in London next month has been signed by over 42,000 people.

According to Jewish News, the Iranian nuclear deal and the impasse in the Israel-Palestine peace process will be key issues on the agenda during the visit.
The petition, published on the UK Parliament website, demands Netanyahu’s arrest upon arrival for “the massacre of over 2,000 civilians in 2014.”
Last summer, Israel launched a bloody war against Gaza that killed nearly 2,300 Palestinians, the majority of which were civilians, 500 of them children.
The brutal attack crippled Gaza’s infrastructure and left over 500,000 people homeless or displaced.The government will be forced to respond since the petition has received over 10,000 signatures. If it surpasses 100,000, Parliament could debate the issue.

Those include his failure to block in US Congress the nuclear deal between world powers, including the UK, and Iran, and the threat by the EU to insist on labelling for products from Israeli settlements in the Occupied Territories.
Using confrontational language, Netanyahu added that Israel, like Europe, was under threat from violent Islam and the two needed to stand together.
“We’re challenged by the opposite of modernity, which is a barbaric mediaevalism, early mediaevalism, primitive, savage, murderous, that comes from the two sources of militant Islam,” he said, referring to Sunnis and Shias.
“We are ready to work together with Europe, Africa and other places in order to fight extremist Islam. But this necessitates a change in attitude, and this change will take time. But we will bring it about,” Netanyahu added.

However, under diplomatic immunity laws, Netanyahu is protected from arrest in Britain for alleged crimes committed in foreign countries. Israel has dismissed the petition, calling it a “meaningless” publicity stunt that has “no practical significance.”
In a statement, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said: [The petition is]
“a PR exercise with no real meaning. Bilateral ties between Britain and Israel are closer than ever before.”

According to the Jerusalem Post, some former Israeli officials have been at risk of arrest in Britain as pro-Palestinian activists in the UK “take advantage of legal loopholes.” Previously, the law allowed complaints of alleged war crimes committed elsewhere to be lodged against military personnel even if they were not British citizens. In 2011, Britain altered the law, making it more difficult to obtain arrest warrants against Israeli figures by requiring the consent of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Previous targets have included the former Defense Minister Ehud Barak and former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.

He’s one of thousands of current and earlier Israeli officials guilty of high crimes against peace too horrific to ignore. Israeli criminality is longstanding - begun well before the Jewish state’s establishment. In 1946, Irgun and Lehi terrorists jointly attacked the King David Hotel - killing scores, injuring many more.
David Ben-Gurion approved the massacre. Menachem Begin led it. Yitzhak Shamir was involved - three future Israeli prime ministers. In April 1948, they committed Deir Yassin mass murder. An eyewitness described the horror as follows:
“I was (there) when the Jews attacked. (They) closed on the village amid exchanges of fire with us. Once they entered the village, fighting became very heavy in the eastern side and later it spread to other parts, to the quarry, to the village center until it reached the western edge.”
“The Jews used all sorts of automatic weapons, tanks, missiles, cannons. They enter(ed) houses and kill(ed) women and children indiscriminately. (Village) youths...fought bravely.”
“We had no aid or support...They took about 40 prisoners...After the battle was over, they took them to the quarry where they shot them dead and threw their bodies in the quarry...They took (other) prisoners and killed them...They killed the youths.”
Other accounts spoke of shootings, bombs exploding and a mother being killed with her husband, son and brother. A nurse was shot dead as well as the daughter of a friend and her baby.
“Whoever tried to run away was shot dead.” It was cold-blooded murder. After the battle, “the Jews took elderly men and women and youths, including four of my cousins and a nephew. They took them all.”
“Women who had on them gold and money, were stripped of (it). After the Jews removed their dead and wounded, they took the men to the quarry and sprayed them all with bullets.”
One woman watched her son shot to death. “They later poured kerosene on his body and” burned it.
Deir Yassin and dozens of other massacres removed Palestinians for Jews. Israeli “War of Independence” forces committed massive ethnic cleansing and genocidal slaughter. Palestinians commemorate the Nakba. Words can't explain the horror.
Israel’s entire history is blood-drenched - responsible for virtually every kind of criminal atrocity imaginable. Netanyahu is the latest in a long line of rogue leaders, the worst of the bunch - fascist, racist, exceeding Sharonian evil.
In September, he’ll visit London to meet with David Cameron. They’ll discuss the Iran nuclear deal and other regional issues ahead of his scheduled October 1 UN General Assembly address in New York.
In July, he publicly rebuked UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond for agreeing to the Iran nuclear deal - calling it a “failure of diplomacy.” His reproach followed Hammond saying “Israel doesn’t want any deal with Iran. (It prefers) a permanent…standoff.”
Netanyahu is a world-class thug, a war criminal multiple times over. More than 60,000 Brits signed a petition (many more daily) calling for his arrest on arrival in London for mass slaughtering defenseless Gazans during last summer’s Operation Protective Edge - cold, calculated, premeditated naked aggression, the highest of high crimes wrongfully blamed on Hamas.

Sign the petition if you’re a UK citizen or resident. (Others aren’t eligible). Demand Netanyahu’s arrest, detention and prosecution. Repeat the process for Obama, Bush and top officials in their administrations.
Aim for millions of signatures. Demand accountability. Resist endless US-led NATO/Israeli wars of aggression. Save humanity from possible nuclear annhilation.
In January, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) set its Doomsday Clock at 3 minutes to midnight - the first time at this dangerous level since 1983. It warned of “extraordinary and undeniable threats to the continued existence of humanity.”
The risk of possible nuclear war is perhaps greater than ever. Lunatics in Washington and Israel make the unthinkable possible. Act now before it’s too late!

Child labor is spreading throughout Gaza. Forced to endure these tragic circumstances, our children are deprived of their innocence and of a peaceful childhood.
They are forced to work in domestic service and farming, mining, construction and manufacturing industries. Some are seen scavenging and begging on the streets. Others are trapped in forms of slavery, forced labor, debt bondage (to pay off debts incurred by parents and grandparents), sexual exploitation, drug trafficking and organized begging. Child labor is especially harmful and violates the child’s human rights.
Sometimes children receive no monetary compensation for their work, only food and a place to sleep. Child labor deprives the child of education. Children have no rights if they are injured or become ill and have no protection from physical abuse and other forms of mistreatment, such as verbal attacks, bullying and humiliation.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is a human rights treaty which establishes the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. The Convention defines a child as any human being under the age of 18, unless the age of majority is attained earlier under a state's own domestic legislation. Nations that ratify this convention are bound to it by international law. Israel ratified the Convention in 1991. In 2010, UNICEF criticized Israel for its failure to create a government-appointed commission on children's rights or to adopt a national children's rights strategy or program in order to implement various Israeli laws addressing children's rights. The report criticized Israel for holding that the Convention does not apply in the West Bank and for defining Palestinians under the age of 16 in the occupied territories as children, even though Israeli law defines a child as being under 18, in line with the Convention. In 2012, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child criticized Israel for its bombing attacks on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, stating, "Destruction of homes and damage to schools, streets and other public facilities gravely affect children" and called them "gross violations of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, its Optional Protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflict and international humanitarian law." It also criticized Palestinian rocket attacks from Gaza on southern Israel which traumatized Israeli children, calling on all parties to protect children.
Israel’s blockade and its control over the lives of Gazans has reduced Gaza to a poverty-stricken open-air prison, which has created the deplorable conditions out of which most forms of child labor in Gaza have evolved.
And what about the women of Gaza and their perspective towards having babies? How can children survive and thrive in this hell? Many Palestinian women are afraid to bring babies into this inferno, especially after Israel's latest offensive against Gaza. Israel used illegal weapons against my people. which affected women's fertility and physical appearance. Using prohibited weapons is a clear violation of the 1980 Protocol to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons, to which Israel is a signatory.
